LeafFilter North's reply to:

LeafFilter North in Bristow, Virginia - Does not work as advertised, Poor quality material,

The life expectancy of the system is less than two years. Wind has lifted the system out of the gutters; requiring re-installation's of the system. The mesh covering has totally disintegrated allowing the perforated plastic to clog with leaf debris. We had the leafilter gutter protection system installed on her house in 2002. The installation was poor and unacceptable. When I requested an authorized leaf filter dealer to review the work; I was told it would cost an extra $1365 to fix the shoddy installation. No end caps allowed birds to nest and clog my gutters. The system was put in upside down in some places.

LeafFilter North in Merrick, New York - Leaf Filter Gutter Protection System, has been rated the Number 1 gutter protection system by Consumer Reports Magazine in their September, 2010 issue.

All the ANONYMOUS bad reviews written about the Leaf Filter System and Leaf Filter North are LIES written by Leaf Filters competitors. If you want to know the truth about Leaf Filter, check the September 2010 issue of Consumer Reports Magazine ( can be seen onl. Also check Leaf Filters reviews on Angie's List. They are stellar. These are all real reviews. Anyone can write any nonsense they want to try and discredit a good company. Don't be fooled by Leaf Filter's competitors pathetic attempt to discredit Leaf Filter as Leaf Filter is quickly putting them out of business because their gutter protection products are inferior and DO NOT WORK.

LeafFilter North in Linthicum Heights, Maryland - Product does NOT do what it says it does

They use youtube videos and advertisements that lead homeowners to believe the product does something that it positively does NOT do. It doesn't work in rain, it doesn't work in snow. It doesn't work with ice, and they need to be shut down. They have somehow prevented google reviews and yelp reviews and we are left to leave comments on sites like this. When I asked for a refund, the refused. They have been to my house over 5 times and still product does not do what they say it does. Horrible customer service and the product is even worse. DO NOT USE LEAF FILTER!

LeafFilter North in Folly Beach, South Carolina - These people schedule jobs, get signed contracts then on install day they call with lack of enough materials. Want to reschedule job!

Saw at Charleston home show, met at house to measure, signed contract for work to be done next day. Arrived at rental house only to be called for a reschedule due to lack of materials. Was told they could rush to Charlotte, get materials, and be back in time to do work that day. Only if they FLEW a private plane could that have worked in January. Wanted me to let them do job a few days later while I was out of town. The price was very high ($2733.00 for 124 feet) to clean existing gutters, replace some rusted screws, and add covers. The screen design seemed good, but after being deceived once I wondered if they would be standing behind their product from a distance (North Carolina). I prefer to do business with an established local company.

3/4/2015First and for most - if you get these filters pay with a credit card or open their credit card. When you have issues and want them off your house file a complaint with the credit card company and you will be able to get your money back and NOT have to sign their standard nondisclosure agreement. Essentially leaf filter is a great, highly overpriced device as long as you do not live in an area that has any potential for snow or ice. My experience:Everything seemed fine for the first 2-3 months until the first snow, at which point the leaf filters were completely blocked by the snow and as it melted water ran down the front and back of my gutters then froze.1. Making my gutters completely useless2. Damaging the wooden eves on my home3. Creating an ice flow and hazard in front of every entrance to my homeI contacted leaf filter and received a return phone call from one of their reps who asked me if I needed a lesson in liquids turning solid before I buy things, then told me they would never remove their product. After a few heated emails asking if this is how they normally do business and threatening including their professionalism in an article I was going to post. I was then contacted by one of their managers (Joe R.)After the initial insulting phone experience I refused to speak to anyone from their company over the phone. I chose to only communicate via email so I would have records of all conversations and Joe R called a lot trying not to have anything in writing. Finally Joe R admitted in an email that "ice can form on the system" but at no time during any of our conversations did he offer to remove their ‘system’. Instead I was passed off to their lawyer. What company have you ever heard of that requires a lawyer for a return? A shadey one. Their lawyer, Ryan N, then contacted me with a release that stated I couldn’t contact any agencies like the better business bureau, release them of any responsibility for damage to my home due to the modifications they made to my gutters and could not post any comments, articles etc online or I would be responsible for the entire amount due for the original purchase. The attorney, Ryan N, attempted to intimidate me into a corner in order to get me to sign their nondisclosure agreement but while I kept him talking via email, costing leaf filter money, I contacted the credit card company they opened an account for in my name in order to finance the purchase and filed a complaint asking for a return. After forwarding a summation and photos, a very helpful credit card company took my side and leaf filter had to come take their product off my house, reimburse me what payments I had made and all with out signing their nondisclosure agreement.

LeafFilter North in Flint, Michigan - Results: Ice Dams, Ice on walks, driveway.

Don't do it! Several phone calls and visits to/from this sham of a company failed to resolve our ice problem. If you live in a climate where you get snow/ice, this system does not work. They are very good at "passing the buck" with every different person saying this was the first they had heard of our problem. And they all have the same way of side-stepping and avoiding the issue. Their guarantee is worthless. We are contacting an attorney today. VP told us yesterday that we don't have a problem. He would have someone come and uninstall our system, but he "will not refund one dime." This was an approximately $5,000 job. Any one in on a class action lawsuit?

LeafFilter North in Wilmington, Delaware - Rain Does Not Go Into Gutter But Overflows!!

My Leaf Filter was installed on November 4, 2014 and I discovered almost immediately that, when it rained, or when there was a little bit of snow melt on the roof, water did not flow into the gutters but instead went over the gutters and to the ground below. I now have a literal trench around my house in the front and the back where the water has been going over the gutters every time it rains. My front porch which has a gutter going along the outside and used to be dry is now constantly wet because the water goes across the gutter and drips down steadily on the porch. I contacted the service manager, Emily Klousterman, for the North Region shortly after Christmas and she returned my call in early January. Then said she would have a service tech call me. After about 10 days with no call, I called her again and she told me the same thing, i.e., a service person would call and come out to see what was wrong. He finally called and came out. However, he only took pictures and said he would show his boss. Interestingly, he said since it was raining when he came out, he could not actually look at the gutters and what was happening to the rain! Interesting!! One would think that the best time to look at what the gutters are actually doing is to look at them in operation when it is raining. I finally called him back to see what happened when he showed the pictures to his boss. He said boss would call me. Boss finally called and left a voice message saying that Leaf Filter did not work very well at the beginning until the screen was saturated with water. I have a call back into him. This is ridiculous! These gutters were over $4000! I want them taken down and replaced with a product that works.

LeafFilter North in Bainbridge Island, Washington - Leaf Filter should be call Gutter Covers

My installation by Leaf Filter NW was March 08. Pollen and mildew plugged the famous micro screen so the screens turned out to be a wonderful gutter cover. I called NW and they came out and cleaned the screens. They came out twice and told me just call when it happens again. Well, they are gone with the wind and the company that has the Seattle area, Leaf Filter N, will not honor NW's promise. Could you imagine buying a Ford from a dealer that goes out of business and you find that your warrantee is not honored by another ford dealer? My next rant will be to the Washington State Attorney General. Leaf filter should be thrown of the state before someone else gets ripped off!
