Leaf Filter North of Washington, Inc

I am not sure if the "Leaf Filter" product is good or bad. They told me they had 120,000 happy customers. Unfortunately, I am not one of them. I am not posting a bad review because this is a hobby. I am posting because this has been a very bad experience and I would hate that you or someone you know would have to experience that we went through. And we still have NO gutters. Just read my story and think about it. Is this what you want to possibly experience? Then go for it.

On September 10, 2016 Leaf Filter sales rep Zack W. arrives to introduce us to the product. We like what he is showing us and it looks like a quality built in the USA product. Zack writes an agreement with a approx. start & completion date of September 27, 2016. The dollar amounts were agreed upon and we were excited and ready. The 27th arrives and we wait and wait. We finally call them to get info on their eta. They are not coming today, per the installation manager Jason, because a piece of equipment broke. We agreed that the next day, 28th, was ok. Wednesday arrives and so does Leaf Filter installers. I speak with the installers come to find out they were in Portland and knew nothing of the augers issues, mmmm Jason. It looks like all is going good now. But wait....they show up with less than 60 feet of material. They have nothing to work with. I read their work order and it said we had 150' of existing gutter. That was baffling, why would we be paying to have gutters installed if we all ready had them. Oh well the installers were very nice and were extremely embarrassed by the situation. So, once again we reschedule this time for October 3 and again we have to contact the office to locate the crew. They are not coming, all of their trucks are broken down. The entire fleet must be two trucks. Now we have to reschedule for October 19th. We thought this would give them time to make repaired to the fleet and get our material gathered. Finally it is the 19th and they set a time of 8-9 a.m. which we agreed. We wait and wait. Noon rolls around a we call. Guess what? Their trucks broke down and they would need to reschedule. NO YOU WILL NOT!

That was four days of vacation wasted.

My husband & I are retired .We needed to do something with our gutters I was in fear my husband would fall off the roof. I called Leaf Filter .

There Rep. came out two days later. The job was done. within the week.

He worked with us ,knowing we were on a fixed income. I can't say enough about the service we received. I would recommend them highly. The next day we had a heavy rain fall.

The gutters did what they said they would .So if you are retired person or can't get to your gutters for any reason give them a call ,you won't be sorry. Happy in R.I.

Every process of this installment, from the estimate to the actual work, was top notch. I could not have been more happy with the way things turned out.

The two

man crew was not only courteous and professional but took the time to explain how the gutters would work and what I would need to know for the first few rainfalls.

I would highly recommend these guys to anyone. And I felt that I got what I paid for and that as not only a good product but the warranty that stands behind it and the

security of a job done well enough that I won't have to worry about it in the future.

The installer was right on time.

Professional installation was performed in less than a day, and the site was left clean and neat. We are quite happy with our Leaf Filter gutters, plus they look great!

I was very pleased with the knowledge and presentation of the salesperson on the Leaf Filter concept, design and function.

He was thorough and concise on his presentation and was willing and capable of answering all of my questions.

I liked and decided to take advantage the opportunity to charge the cost to a Wells Fargo credit card interest free over 48 months.

The installer was excellent and a very hard and thorough worker. He started the installation about 9:00am and finished around 8:30 pm with few breaks on an extremely hot and humid day.

The cost of the Leaf Filter protection system is "pricy" but so far I am very pleased with how effective they are and appreciate not having to climb the ladder to clean my gutters!

The LeafFilter end caps that you may have noticed on our marketing displays or other materials are not items essential to the system’s function. In fact, because they cover part of the screen, they can increase drip over on the ends of a run because the screen is blocked in these areas. Instead, our normal installation practice is to seal the ends with caulk, so the system remains totally closed while providing optimal performance for the customer. These are separate from gutter end caps. Since gutter end caps are required, please contact our service team at 800-749-4566 if they are missing so that we can install them.

I am very pleased with the leaf filter system installed on my home however, I don't believe they installed the end pieces which I have seen on the displays. Hopefully the company will send someone out to verify and if needed install these end caps. My experience with the installers was very positive and they were very polite and completed the job in record time.

LeafFilter North - Great product

The sales man arrived on time, very professional and he knew his product inside and out. He was able to answer all my questions about the product with absolutely no pressure to buy. He demonstrated other leaf gutter products that are currently out there on the market, but did not compare to leaf filter gutter product. The install happened within a week, 2 guys showed up and put the leaf filter product on both gutters (front & back of my house) and took them a little over an hour to complete the job. Overall, I am totally satisfied with this purchase, the company and the product they sell. I would highly recommend this product to all those folks out there that do not want to climb another ladder to clean out the gutters.

In March, 2015 I purchased a LeafFilter system from a smooth talking salesman to replace my old Gutter Helmut System. Although the price was double what I had paid for the Gutter Helmut system the salesman said the old gutters would be renewed, cleaned, relined and adjusted as needed and would look like new. The non clog warranty looked good. The LeafFilter North installers did not do anything but put their screens in place and said they were not supposed to clean anything except debris in the gutter. When I called the salesman he agreed he had told me the gutters would be renewed and he or the company would take care of it later. After many calls, emails nothing was ever done.

Over the next few months leaves, straw and seeds accumulated on the screen. They do not blow or wash off as I was told by the salesman. Almost as much water runs over the gutter as in the gutter making the gutters almost worthless. Also in one area the water over flow has gone onto my brick discoloring the wall.

I have to periodically clean the debris to avoid the flow over.

Based on my experience Leaf Guard, or Gutter Helmut is a more efficient system. I have also found when they removed my Gutter Helmut the crew did not renail the shingles.

Poor installers, lying salesmen, and poor product! Buyer beware!

LeafFilter continuously attempted to correct any issues that the consumer raised. When one alleged issue was corrected, the consumer would come up with other issues on which to base his refusal to honor his contract. The work was done properly and the consumer decided that he did not want to pay for a job well done. Following continuous requests for payment to no avail, LeafFilter had no choice but to take court action. Even while engaged in litigation, LeafFilter was open to compromising and making any modifications that the consumer suggested. Even after the court ordered the consumer to communicate with LeafFilter and allow it to make any needed corrections, the consumer refused to allow it on its property. Ultimately, there was a trial and the court ruled in LeafFilter’s favor. LeafFilter consistently provided proper customer service in this situation and always was willing to address any reasonable concerns of the consumer.

If by reading this review I could help save just one family from the *** we have endured, it will be my time to write this review well spent. We hired Leaffilter to install leaffilter gutters, soffit, and fascia on our home in July of 2015.

The job was to take 4 days to complete. The first crew completely tore off all the wood fascia and crown molding to our home leaving it open to the elements. There was insulation blowing all over the place. On the third day one of the workers asked my son if we had good insurance, because there was going to be an accident here real soon, this same worker also threatened to burn the place down.

Needless to say a new crew was sent out 5 days later to finish the work. By the end of the 8th day they called the work complete by flashlight and wanted us to inspect and sign off in the dark. We refused. Upon our inspection, there were no leaffilters installed, dented fascia, broken and cracked siding from there ladders, siding scratched from there ladders, several gardens destroyed, missing dryer vent from the second story, and because of the removal of the crown molding there is a 4 or 5 in gap from where the siding ends to the soffit.

Plus lots of debris, metal pieces, screws, nails and wood. According to leaffilter if you look at this project from the road it looks beautiful. So we advised them if they wanted any money from us for this they would have to take us to court. And to court we went, first for a hearing then a trial.

At the trial leaffilter was to complete the work and repair the damages to our home and in the end we were to pay. We worked together and came up with a punch list to repair their work, fix my siding and install new crown molding, but they would not install the leaffilters. When the salesman came to our home he sold us the leaffilter gutters, even showed us a sample of what they looked like and how they would work, this job was to cost us over $9000.00 so how could I agree when the main purpose for us to even hire leaffilter was to be omitted. During the time between court appearances I tried to get estimates for damages and repair but no one wanted to get involved in this disaster.

In the end the court appointed a contractor and there was more wrong with this install than we had suspected. With 70 percent of the work needing to be redone, over $6000.00 damage to my siding, crown molding, and gardens I still have to pay leaffilter over $5000.00. The only concession I received was $750.00 in damages to my gardens. So much for putting my faith in the justice system.

This company is sneaky and manipulative, they even went as far as to forge my husband’s signature on their copy of the contract after I pointed out to them he didn’t sign it.

And also to ask the court for a *** order, in my opinion if Leaffilter would have done good work in the first place they would not need to be concerned about what I would say. Beware

Wow. $9000 for gutters and some fascia/soffit work?!?!

That should be around $4/foot for gutters and a couple bucks a foot for fascia.

You either have 2000 feet of gutters or you really overpaid.
